General Woodcraft Kitchen Design Budget Ideas

Like a timeless black dress, white kitchen cabinetry is a beautiful choice that will never go out of style. How do you stand out amongst others who share your love of the classics? Accessories, of course. Homeowners perennially gravitate toward white cabinetry because it provides a crisp neutral backdrop which can be customized to reflect one's style (and budget). Add some unique hardware, artful glass, furniture-style legs and feet (photo), custom molding and panels, whatever suits your taste. The only rule is this: make it your own. Because nobody likes to hide behind the punch bowl because they're wearing the same dress as their neighbor.

General Woodcraft kitchen designers work with quality cabinet manufacturers whose incredible accessory choices will help to create your dream kitchen. If we can't find the "bling" you're dreaming of, chances are good we can build it. Our onsite woodworking shop has professional craftsmen ready to help bring your kitchen project to life.

We love what we do ... and you will too.

Paduak Hardwood: Custom Made Jewelry Box

Posted by Mark Brewer on Tue, Feb 05, 2013 @ 10:30 AM

Paduak Hardwood Custom Crafted Jewelry Box Paduak jewelry box with maple inlay

Local craftsman Terry Danielson created a unique, custom made wooden jewelry box for his daughter-in-law.  The beautiful handcrafted hardwood jewelry box is a work of art.  Handmade from Paduak hardwood with a maple inlay, the craftsmanship in Terry’s work is evident.  The heart shaped design was cut from a piece of Paduak hardwood, an exotic hardwood species from Africa that has good strength and a rich interlocking grain pattern.  Paduak is a gorgeous orangey brown color that will darken to browner tones naturally as it ages.

To get the maple inlay to fit
Paduak jewelry box with maple inlay open properly into the design, Terry meticulously sanded both the maple and the Paduak for a perfect fit of the two wood species.  Terry used multiple coats of Water-Lok to finish his hardwood project to a beautiful luster. Paduak hardwood is a great wood species to consider for a number of different custom woodworking projects.
